There is a big change coming in the way home businesses are worked.

Here is the current model for most work at home businesses:
1. Get people to a website or company conference call.
2. Follow up to see if they went to the website or conference call.
3. If they did go to the website, follow up to get them on a company
conference call.
4. Call them after the conference call to try to close them, or three
way them in with your sponsor.
5. If they aren’t yet closed, follow up with them 3 more times.
6. Play phone tag throughout the process.

Aahh…no wonder most people aren’t successful using this model - it’s a LOT of work.

So, what is the new model?

How would you like to focus all of your efforts on marketing, and let professionals take prospect phone calls, follow up with prospects and close your prospects?

The New Model Becomes:
1. Get people to the call center via online, or offline advertising - period - done!

I found a company that is using this new model. I guarantee that when other companies see the success of this new model, they will start moving towards it.

I believe this new idea will transform the home business industry, and those individuals who start using this new model now will be way ahead of those who don’t.

Get ahead of the curve and reap the rewards.

Every once in a while, I come across online business ideas that make good sense. I will be sharing those ideas with you.

I found one recently that I really like. It’s really a simple idea. This person built a business promotion system that uses a popular free website promotion service and a low cost money making program.

What I really like about this idea is he is gaining new members for his money making program from the current members of the advertising service. He is showing those people how to make money using the free advertising service that they are already a member of.

He is also making money and earning advertising credits as new members sign up for the free advertising service, and the money making program that are the main components of his system.

The system contains a simple one page website that steps the visitor through the 3 easy steps to set up the system. New members also get a free replicated website, and access to a forum that provides advice and even sample ads to use with the free advertising service.

As a result of this simple idea, this person is signing up new members daily and is always on the money making companies leader board. Furthermore, many of the team members using his system are on the leader’s board. I’m not on the leaders board yet, but I am having enough success with this system to keep it interesting.

When I see ideas like this, I always ask myself - Why didn’t I think of this? A simple idea that is making a number of people a fair amount of money.

Oh well, they are plenty of great ideas out there that haven’t been thought of yet.

You may have seen information being sold about “How to get listed in Google in three days”.

I have not purchased that information, so maybe they know something that I don’t. But, I will tell you how to get listed in the search engines in just a few days, and it won’t cost you anything (or very little).

I know of two ways to get listed quickly.
1. Submit a press release.
2. Start Blogging

Today, I will cover press releases. An online press release is nothing more that a news worthy item that is being announced to the online community.

You need to change your thought process when doing a press release. A press release is not an advertisement, and press release services may even reject your press release if it sounds like an advertisement.

So what news could your press release be about?

Perhaps you just launched a new website.

Perhaps being the home business entrepreneur that you are, you just joined a new network marketing program.

Perhaps you just added a new feature or service to your website.

Before doing a press release, I highly suggest you buy a domain name. I would not send a press release to an affiliate or mlm url. See the last post in the internet marketing Tips to understand why.

The most popular press release service is http://www.prweb.com .

You can do a press release for free through prweb, but I suggest you purchase the $30 service. I always get more release pick ups (A pick up means someone liked you release enough to post it on their website) when I spend the extra $30.

To understand what a good press release looks like, do a search on prweb and read some of the press releases. I have also linked to a few press releases, on the right, that I have done.

About three days after you do your press release, go out to Yahoo and Google. Do a search on your domain name and chances are you will be listed.

Get out there and write a few press releases for inexpensive traffic.

I am amazed at how many people do not use this simple and free advertising technique.

Whenever you send an email, you should include a signature line that includes a short advertisement, and the link to your web site.

Every time I send an email, or reply to an email the signature above goes at the bottom of the email. You never know who may be looking for a way to make money from home. You never know who may click on your link and join you in business.

I use Microsoft Outlook Express as my email program. To create a signature for Outlook Express, click on “Tools” then “Options”. Click on the “Signatures” tab. Make sure the “Add signatures to all outgoing messages” check box is checked. Then go to the bottom text box and type in your signature. Click on the “Set as Default” button, then the “Apply” button and you’re done.

Now, every message that you send out will have your short advertisement in it.

By the way, if you post in forums, check to see if they allow a signature. If they do, make sure to include the same signature in your forum posts.

What are domains, and why do you need them?

In very basic terms, a domain name, like homebizfind.com, is a website address - a way to separate and identify different web sites on the internet.

When I first started learning about the internet, I thought getting my own domain name would be expensive and complicated. I was surprised at how easy it was to register a domain and how little the cost was.

Before I tell you how to buy your own domains and use them, you need to understand why you should be using domain names.

Are you a part of an affiliate program, or mlm program that has a URL similar to this - http://www.betteruniverse.com/mg0003685? Now that URL is not that bad, but it could be better. I have seen some long URLs with questions marks, equal signs and ampersand signs. The longer the URL the greater the chance that you will have problems with it. It may get broken into two lines in an email program, or you may miss type it in your advertising. Chances are also good that anyone typing it in the web browser will make a mistake possibly loosing you a sale.

To solve this potential problem, you want to buy a domain name and point it to the website affiliate or mlm program that you are promoting.

For example I use this domain http://www.winmlm.com and point it to the BetterUniverse URL above. So, both of the above URLs go to the same website.

Winmlm.com is a domain name. It’s short, it’s related to the program I am promoting, it’s somewhat catchy and it’s easy to remember. If I am speaking to someone on the phone, it’s much easier for the person I’m speaking with to write it down or remember it. Plus, it looks better and looks more professional.

Another advantage to using a domain name such as the one above, is you can forward it to another web site. If you decide you want to promote another program, you can forward the domain name to the other program website. If the business you have been promoting goes out of business, you can forward the domain to another program. Since you would have been advertising using the winmlm.com domain name, you can still take advantage of any advertising you have done.

I’m not an SEO (Search Engine Optimization) specialist, but I can tell you that you can submit your affiliate/mlm website to search engines and they generally won’t list them. You have a better chance of getting your domain name listed because it doesn’t look like an affiliate/mlm link.

Okay, so how do you get a domain name? I suggest you use http://www.godaddy.com. Godaddy is easy to use and the cost to buy a .com domain name through them is less than $10 per year.

The difficult part can be finding a domain name that you like. Forget the obvious choices like homebusiness.com, workathome.com etc. because they are already taken. So you may have to get creative to find the domain name that works for you.

To start looking for your domain name start typing your ideas into the “Find a domain name now” box. I like to use .com extensions because most people think dot-com. If you pick a .net, .biz etc. name, you may loose some traffic. For example if you tell someone to go to your website “www.yourdomain.net” , they may actually think “www.yourdomain.com” . I am seeing more .biz, .net .us extensions, so use your best judgement - I just have my opinion.

Once you have selected a name that is not taken, you will need to register with Godaddy and provide them with all your personal information. Once you have bought your domain you can go into your Godaddy account and FORWARD your domain to the web site of your choice.

I suggest you register a domain name for all of your affiliate programs and network marketing programs.

If you read my initial post in this blog, you would have seen that I will be sharing new thoughts and ideas that I have, to see if they can be used to make money. Well, here is one of those ideas.

I am a terrible typist, maybe you are too. Did you know being a terrible typist can be a benefit to you.

I have heard stories of people mis-typing a URL and ending up at “page not found”. They figured out if they mis-typed the URL others would too. So, they registered the domain, pointed the domain to a website or built a website and made money of off the mistake in spelling or typing.

I was searching in google the other day for “free website promotion” and instead typed in “free websute promotion”. Google, being as smart as it is, asked me if I really meant “free website promotion” which of course I did. But, I was surprised to see a number of results come back. Obviously others had figured out that people would misspell “website”, and had used the misspelling to their advantage. Furthermore, there were a number of Google Adwords using the keyword “websute” - meaning people were paying for this keyword. Which leads me to believe enough people are misspelling “website” to make it a keyword worth pursuing.

So the thought occurred to me - do suppose website misspellings are registered domains? Like “websute.com” or websote.com”? So I checked. And I found that neither were registered domains. Probably because no one is going to type http://www.websote.com or http://www.websute.com into their web browser. But, I thought could these domains be of some value. So, I bought both domains. By the way, do you know that you should domains for every website you promote? I’ll tell you why and how to buy domains in my next post.

I have some thoughts on how I may be able to use these domains to my advantage. But I’ll wait until I put these ideas into place before I tell you about them. Right now these domains are pointed to a couple of my websites, one of them being this blog. I’ll keep you posted on what results, if any, I see.

So, the moral to this story is, pay attention to the website URLs you type into your browser. You never know, one of these misspellings could make you a lot of money.

IP to IP Broadcasting - I suggest you don’t do it.

I was shocked this morning when I received an email at one of my not often checked email accounts. The email was advertising IP to IP broadcasting.

You may have received an IP to IP message yourself in the past. You were working on your computer, minding your own business and then suddenly a Windows message popped up and someone was trying to sell you something. I received several of those IP broadcasts, until I learned how to turn the Windows messaging off.

Anyway, I was shocked because I didn’t think anyone was still trying to sell this junk advertising. Here is a copy of the message, without the website link (I don’t want to give them any advertising).

Now, I had the opportunity to use this “technology” a few years ago, but I decided not to use it.
I decided not to use it because:
1. It seemed very intrusive forcing a pop-up on someone’s Windows desktop - worse than spam.
2. I knew since I could easily figure out how to turn these desktop messages off, others could too, and it would soon be worthless.
3. You could not put a click able link in the forced desktop pop-ups. You had to rely on the recipient to remember, or write down the URL you were advertising, and then type it in their browser. People are busy, if they can’t click through, forget it.

So, if you see an advertisement like the one above, don’t fall for it.
